Rayel Batangan

My name is Rayel Batangan, and I am a junior in University of Guam’s Nursing Program. I have always enjoyed art in all of its forms since I was a kid, but I never had the courage to pursue it in college.
Eventually, dust settled on the art supplies I once held dearly, and drawing became more of a forgotten hobby. This semester I decided to take AR102: Studio for Art Non-Majors as an elective. It was daunting
at first to hold a painting brush again after years of being stagnant, but I ended up recalling how much I loved creating. Chaotically beautiful and therapeutically frustrating is how I would describe my relationship with art, and I believe this is something I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
